According to the Royal Spanish Language Academy, technology is defined as: "A set of theories and techniques to the practical use of scientific knowledge." We can say that I improved technologies facilitate knowledge. This year in the different subjects we had to incorporate new technologies such as the internet and other electronic platforms to carry out research. The use of such resources, should ease and often improves the outcome of a report or presentation, helping in the learning process and cognitive and academic development. However, we must recognize that this resource can be misused to take ideas and expertise of other people that maintain information online.
While many of our teachers in their past time studying with very different resources than ours, they have been renovating and adding sources of support teachers. Most teachers in the faculty use the power point platform or online university platform such as u-cursos. For this reason, we had to present papers or research on these platforms, such as lectures, group works, reports, etc.. and somehow we must adapt to the new challenges ahead. Working online, although most of the time is fast, and often is not as efficient as we wanted.
In general, when looking for information on the internet and when it is against time, it tend to search the first thing we found and all the research it is based in a few papers and there is often no reliable funds. On the other hand, there are also excellent tools that deliver new technologies, especially on the side of the almost instantaneous communication and the thousands of databases that can be found "surfing the web" are some of the many good and bad characteristics or uses that can give us.
Among the good experiences using technologys this year at the Uni, I want to emphasize the proper use of these in Economy. I think that the professor has incorporated the resource efficiently. Although many times the tasks that we must do each week resulting a little tedious.
Undoubtedly, new technologies give us a variety of benefits (convenience, speed, knowledge, etc.).. However, in my opinion I think you lose some group work, in other words, the work "on the ground," where the personal union and live among classmates. Often for convenience and ease we simply divide the work and develop in our homes, so you lose that connection and you don't know the judgment used for the classmate in his task. For my part, I prefer the different opinions presented in the course of an investigation and also gives me more confidence a book instead of an electronic search, I mean I am pro libraries and old books. :)
