Transantiago it is the public transportation in Santiago of Chile Since 2006. Before the transantiago, we had in the city the "yellow busses" The new transport it was supposed to came to repair the shortcomings of the previous. Unfortunately it wasn't, because there were a lot of misinformation on the part of users on the one hand, and on the other hand, the system itself was awful. The project could have started better if they had organized. But it has slowly been improving.
In my opinion, the current system is better than before or is progressing better than the old. Firstly: It was implemented a card payment system, which makes it more efficient due to the card has a chip that allows travel on the same passage in a period of 3 hours and also be used in the subway.
Secondly: There are fewer thefts, because drivers don't handle money. Third: Drivers earn a steady income and they don't have to "run" by the passengers. Before it was common to see buses running at full speed through the streets of Santiago. Finally, it have implemented best bus stops where there is information to know the routes of bus lines (trunk and feeder).

About my experience in the Transantiago, I must say that IN GENERAL has been good. Obviously when it started I didn't like so much as most of the people. But now I learned to "move" on the new public transport, I must say most of the time it works fine, have increased the frequency of the routes, drivers comply with the bus stops, there are modern busses that can transport people with different physical disabilities for example.
To finish, still remains to be done, but is on track. For example, in the sense of time travel by bus, because many people prefer to travel by subway instead of bus because of the speed. Need to improve the lightning. The issue of the "graffitis" on the bus stops and inside to the busses, it should have a campaign to increase awareness of the people in the care of the most important transportation in Chile.
